Repatriation

If you do not have an identity card in Romania and your Romanian passport states that your residence is in the country from which you are repatriating, you must do so:

  • Obtain your identity card by applying for it urgently at the Population Registration Service in the city/town where you will establish your residence
  • With the identity card and all personal documents (in original), you will go to Bucharest, to the Directorate General Passport Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the address: str. Nicolae Iorga nr.29, sector 1 Bucharest, contact phone 021.2125674, fax 021.3121500, www.pasapoarte.mai.gov.ro. Here with the transport documents of your goods, you will request the issue of the repatriation on the same day (not only wait a few hours).

The next steps will follow:

  • obtaining the EORI number is a registration on the customs server based on an application that I write to you.
  • We submit the import or transit declaration accompanied by:
  • A copy of the identity card
  • Romanian passport and the passport of the country from which the repatriation is made – copy
  • Driver license
  • Repatriation certificate
  • Invoice for sea transport
  • Declaration on the possession of goods
  • Direct representation contract
  • List of goods

For household goods and personal effects, please specify the number of pieces (approximately) for each of them.

For the car, you will present :
– Certificate of title/ownership (front and back, initially for verification in copy and if original at the time of import)
and a document specifying the capacity of the vehicle, cylinder capacity, fuel, and weight, if not written on the document.
– A document (purchase invoice or older insurance) showing that it is in the possession of the owner at least 6 months before repatriation/resettlement.

If you are repatriating to Romania and need to sell your property (house or apartment) regardless of the city you live in – Ask us NOW how you can benefit from a transport voucher for a 20″ or 40″ container or professional packing/packing/loading/containerization services worth up to $2000.

The introduction of goods is based on a written commitment of your intention to settle in Romania within 6 months. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Administration and Interior of Romania will agree to this and you will deposit a financial guarantee in favor of the Customs Office of destination for the goods introduced. After obtaining the original repatriation documents, the guarantee will be returned to you.

If by the time the container with your goods arrives – you have received from the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Interior the necessary documents for customs exemption – you do not need to present the customs guarantee.
The exemption from customs duties is issued in Romania, based on the Romanian passport with residence abroad and/or on the documents proving residence abroad.

The FCL maritime regime is a full container personal goods transport service and is recommended for customers who are RETURNING with all their personal goods to ROMANIA.

Personal motor vehicles can be brought into the country duty-free, provided that the motor vehicles do not have a commercial destination, so they cannot be brought in duty-free: trucks, trailers, buses, cranes, dumpers, etc.

Tools and equipment in exemption by repatriation are particular cases that may arise when a repatriating person wants to bring to Romania tools and equipment owned abroad. Here, the situation of each item is analyzed to see to what extent it can benefit from the exemption.
